Tbilisi – On September 30 – October 1, 2009, Association for Protection of Landowners Rights, USAID’s SME Support Project, Tbilisi City Hall, National Agency of Public Registry, and National Investment Agency of Georgia hosted VIII International Congress of Real Property Appraisers.

Appraisers from Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Russia, Azerbaijan and the western and east European countries as well as representatives of banks and other financial institutions, auditing, building and developer companies participated in the congress to share the experience and best practices, and establish new business contacts.

Main themes of a two-day conference were Real Estate Market and Problems of Valuation in Crisis, Further Development of Valuation Sector and Self -regulatory Valuation Institutions.

The Congress contributed to further development of real estate valuation market in Georgia and introduction of globally recognized valuation standards acceptable to the world’s capital market organization, regulators and market participants.
