04.04.2009 Acquisition of Privately Owned Land Parcels within Marabda-Karsi Railway Corridor Began

Association for Protection of Landowners’ Rights shall carry out  inventory of land parcels within Marabda-Karsi railway construction/rehabilitation corridor, mediate  between the State and owners and ensure acquisition of these parcels by the State. The Ministry of Economic Development of Georgia contracted APLR to provide land acquisition services for the implementation of Baku-Tbilisi-Karsi railway project.

 

Within the scope of the project it is planned to collect baseline survey data from Tetritskaro, Akhalkalaki and Ninotsminda districts on the private landowners affected by Karsi-Akhalkalaki railway rehabilitation corridor, as well as by new railway station construction; prepare the guide to land acquisition and compensation for the project affected populations, manage relations with the National Agency of Public Registry for the update of existing GIS information available for the project affected land parcels (private and state land); facilitate and monitor negotiation process between the government of Georgia and the project affected communities alongside the railway corridor. 

 

APLR will closely cooperate with property owners and inform them on their rights and rules and procedures for land acquisition and compensation; provide feedback to any claim with regard to acquisition process.

 

The works implemented within the scope of the project will ensure protection of rights and interests of real property owners in the process of railway construction.
