Project Abstract:

For the improvement of water supply systems in the country, the government of Georgia developed the national program for water supply, based on which non-stop deliveries of drinking and irrigation water will be ensured in all regions of Georgia by 2013.

United Water Supply Company of Georgia, subordinated to the Ministry of Economic Development,  is responsible for water delivery to all regions of Georgia, introduction of modern systems of service and sustainable use of water resources.

For the inventory and registration of overground assets of the UWSC, the Company contracted Association for Protection of Landowners’ Rights to accomplish the said tasks.  Based on this contract search, identification and survey of company’s real estate, as well as creation of respective GIS database and registration of inventoried properties at public registry is ensured.

Within the scope of the project APLR also ensures valuation of land parcels and other real properties owned by the Company in accordance with international standards; as well as draws geoinformation maps for 59 settlements reflecting the buildings, land parcels, roads, rivers, etc. The Company will depict water supply facilities and underground pipes on these maps afterwards in order to ensure sound planning and development of these systems.

Implementation of the project facilitates efficiency of UWSC activities.
