Project Abstract:

There are very convenient conditions to produce nut in Georgia. Nut cultures play an important role in Georgia’s agricultural production. As of today the basic part of nut produced in the country is exported and sold in different European countries. Both local and foreign investors take more interest to produce hazelnut in Georgia because of high demand on the world markets.

Italian company Ferrero, well-known confectionery manufacturer, with legal and technical support of APLR  purchased more then 1200 ha of state-owned agricultural land in Samegrelo region, West Georgia. The company plans to cultivate hazelnut plantations on these lands in accordance with modern standards used in agriculture.

Within the scope of the contract concluded with AgriGeorgia LLC, local Branch of Ferrero, APLR carries out topographic surveys of the lands purchased by the Company. Based on these surveys topographic maps at scale 1:2000 are prepared and submitted to the client.

If requested by the client APLR also ensures search and identification of land parcels according to the criteria provided, using APLR-owned databases; certification of ownership structure, formal and informal, through field visits and collaboration with regional registration and self-government entities; GPS verification of borders; preparation of mapping materials for possible state land auctions, pre-auction assistance and update to the client; preparation of topographic maps; maintenance, storage and update of GIS data for AgriGeorgia-related territories, map printing according to criteria requested.

The project supports the development of agricultural production and creation of new jobs for local population.
