Project Abstract:

For the development of agricultural production in the country, in summer of 2007 Presidential Program for 100 Agricultural Enterprises was launched. The program envisions privatizing pre-identified agricultural land lots with the areas over 50 hectares to the agricultural investors, both foreign and local, through competitive and transparent selection procedure. Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Agriculture are the responsible institutions to carry out the program and ensure creation of agricultural enterprises on the lands privatized.

For sale of identified state-owned land lots cadastral surveys and their registration at public registry is necessary. To this effect Ministry of Economic Development contracted Association for Protection of Landowners’ Rights to carry out required works and register the lands selected for privatization in different regions of Georgia.

APLR specialists are conducting field cadastral surveys in Kvemo Kartli, Khakheti, Samegrelo regions, 5192 ha in all, to prepare respective cadastral plans and ensure their registration and further privatization.

The project facilitates successful implementation of 100 New Agricultural Enterprises Program and improvement of agricultural sector in Georgia.
