Project Abstract:

To ensure the smooth resettlement of internally displaced persons emerged as result of August 2008 Russia-Georgia conflict and provide such population with sustainable living conditions, the Government of Georgia took decision to establish IDP villages in Shida Kartli, region adjoining the conflict zone. Special territories have been allocated to this purpose and necessary works undertaken to begin construction of houses as soon as possible.

Association for Protection of Landowners’ Rights, under the contract signed with the State Chancellery of Georgia, is dividing the land lots selected for IDP resettlement into residential and agricultural land parcels next to the villages of Shida Kartli and prepares the maps reflecting outer perimeter of the blocks of parcels. As a result situation plans for residential and agricultural land parcels to be submitted to the State Chancellery and construction companies are drawn.

Project implementation facilitates resettlement of displaced people and ensures timely start of construction.
