Autonomous Republic of Adjara, one of strategic regions of Georgia, plays an important role in the economic development of the country. Within the last few years far more attention has been paid to the stimulation of entrepreneurship and small businesses, to the use of existing economic potential, population employment and creation of attractive business and investment environment.

Privatization is one of the significant parts of economic reforms in Adjara that is intensively carried out since the political changes in this region in 2004. Government of the autonomous republic offers investors the whole lot of attractive proposals; Interesting facilities to be privatized in this region include tourist facilities, small and medium enterprises etc.

For the privatization of various facilities owned by the state, it is essential to register them at the public registry. For this purpose the Ministry of Finance and Economy of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara awarded the contract to the Association for Protection of Landowner Rights for carrying out surveys at state-owned buildings and surrounding land parcels in the autonomous republic.

Within the scope of the project APLR specialists survey the buildings of small and large enterprises in the city of Batumi, buildings of different type located on the territories of Kobuleti, Khelvachauri, Khulo, Keda and Shuakevi, as well as the land parcels attached to these buildings.

The plans are designed in accordance with the established parameters. APLR also prepares digital database in UTM project and WCS84 coordinate system, in which collected information are integrated. The plans are prepared in the form of technical certificate including topographic and situation plans (surrounding buildings and areas are also indicated). If requested, special card is attached to each certificate in which information on the owner, data on the constructive parts and materials, information on explications, on the area and volume of the rooms, as well as other parameters are shown.

Based on the above works initial registration of the mentioned buildings at the public registry and their further privatization is possible. The process supports attraction of investments in the region and rehabilitation of small and medium enterprises through local and foreign investments.
