Project Abstract

For the development of land information system in Georgia different international donor-supported projects are strengthening their efforts to create comprehensive geoinformation databases, including data on all types of land in all rayons of Georgia. As of 2005 only agricultural land parcels were surveyed and registered in Khashuri rayon. There was a need to survey residential, urban and leased lands as well and integrate obtained cadastral information into unified database.

Within the frame of the project APLR carries out field works throughout Khashuri rayon to collect information on land parcels and buildings, conducts cadastral surveys using GPS system and depicts cadastral data on the maps using special software. All surveyed objects are assigned unique codes and prepared for the entry into database. Processed information, including attributive and graphical data, is integrated into the unified geodatabase.

Implementing the project is one more step taken towards the development of effective land cadastre and information system in Georgia.
